My Story
Last year, I had a massive burnout.
As a working mother, I thought I could handle everything at once. I was working long hours and looking after my three-year-old twins, which ate up all my time. My health and wellbeing was on the back burner. I wasn’t sleeping well, was eating on the go whenever I could get a minute, and didn’t have any free time to exercise.
I knew I wasn’t doing well, but I felt like I didn’t have any other options.
Sure, I was drop-dead tired, but I thought that was inevitable. I didn’t have any time to myself, but I felt like I was already doing a sub-par job as a mum and professional, so I didn’t think I deserved it. I wasn’t happy with how I looked or how I felt; everything I did made me feel more stressed and everything I ate made me feel sluggish and bloated.
Finally, my body had enough. If I wasn’t going to stop, it was going to make me stop, and it was almost catastrophic. I started having panic attacks. I became so tired I physically couldn’t get out of bed. My psoriasis was flaring up in ways it never had before, and it felt like everything was collapsing around me.
So I decided to take charge.
I went to a nutritionist and naturopath, and decided to change some things. It wasn’t easy. I had created bad habits out of necessity, and prioritising good ones was uncomfortable at first. The concept of sleeping for more than five or six hours was crazy enough, let alone sleeping for 10 or 11. I had to give up some bad habits and introduce new ones, creating a body-friendly routine that would support me.
But it worked. I recovered from the inside out, and now I can truly say that I feel good about my body.
My experience, terrifying as it was, opened my eyes. I realised how important it is to look after your body, and how influential it can be to heal from the inside out.
You can’t just treat the symptoms - you have to be willing to look at the problem holistically.
It was such a powerful realisation that I decided to study more about it. I’ve graduated as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and I’m studying to be a certified Naturopath and Nutrition Therapist.
My goal is to reach as many women as possible. I know there are countless women out there like me — women who are struggling and on the brink of a full-body breakdown, but don’t see any way out of it. I want to help you feel and look your best.
Everything inside our bodies is so intimately connected. You can’t just start exercising and hope for the best. You need to get enough nutrients, correct gut imbalances, get your hormones in line, reduce inflammation, and improve your self-talk. Then, you’ll start seeing those changes - with better mood, improved energy, and clearer skin.
